Professor Yang-Hsin Shih MD, Min-Hsiung Chen MD, PhD and Sanford PC. Hsu MD and Chun-Fu Lin MD founded this microneurosurgery lecture course in 2004 after joining a workshop at St. Louis conducted by Ali F. Krisht MD. Professor M. Gazi Yasargil’s microsurgery technique and concept was presented in Ali F. Krisht’s workshop and both doctors believed that was the area VGH Taipei seeking to develop and invest in. March 2005, Ali F. Krisht MD was invited to give a speech in Taiwan, and he proposed to transfer the St. Louise hands-on workshop to Taiwan to give professionals in the region more opportunity to access the latest techniques. The first event look place in November 2005 and received very positive feedbacks from local surgeons as well as participants from China, Thailand and Malaysia. Over the past 9 years, it became one of the most recommended and well acknowledged course by many neurosurgical professionals internationally.
